Our purpose
TPR turns official records and civic procedures into reporting Texans can understand and verify for themselves. We distinguish what happened from what is proposed, pending, alleged or still unresolved.

Meet the Founder — Michael L. Hamilton II
Michael L. Hamilton II is the founder of The Texas Public Record, an independent, nonpartisan news and civic-information outlet focused on verified facts, public records, and government accountability.
Michael served honorably as a U.S. Army infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division and is a 100% disabled veteran. His professional background includes work as a tradesman plumber and certified retail tobacconist. He also earned Texas security credentials at Levels II, III, and IV, along with a security manager’s license.
He was also licensed as a pastor and served as a youth pastor.
His military service, professional experience, and ministry background bring practical perspective to issues involving veterans, skilled trades, regulated businesses, public safety, community needs, and the everyday effects of government decisions.
Through The Texas Public Record, he helps Texans understand their rights, follow public spending, and examine decisions made in their name. His editorial approach is straightforward: verify the record, explain what it establishes, and clearly identify what remains unanswered.
Rights. Accountability. Awareness.
