How TPR works
Editorial Standards
Discover broadly. Verify aggressively. Publish selectively.
TPR treats accuracy, public value and a clear record trail as publication requirements. A story being ready does not automatically make it a priority for publication.
Verification and sourcing
- Primary records and official sources receive priority.
- Dates, figures, current status and the decisive underlying record are checked before publication.
- Verified fact is separated from allegation, analysis and opinion.
- Uncertainty, unresolved contradictions and material limitations are stated plainly.
- Reported claims are never presented as final official action.
Independence and restraint
- TPR maintains political and institutional independence.
- Publication decisions are based on verified public value, not partisan advantage or publishing volume.
- Unnecessary personal information is withheld.
- Nonpublic, anonymous or difficult-to-authenticate material receives heightened scrutiny.
- TPR does not infer race, ethnicity, motive, guilt or legal conclusions.
Corrections
Material errors are corrected transparently. Articles may carry a dated correction or update notice explaining what changed. The Corrections page maintains a public record of posted corrections.
